Things are on an upswing!

I am SO incredibly excited for classes to start back up. This morning I wrote a list of good things to come in 2010.

Here's an excerpt:

1. Going to a conference in Montreal in April.
2. Going to another conference in Charlottesville in April.
3. Going to the National Archives tomorrow with much-missed Georgetowners.
4. Getting to TEACH Shakespeare this semester (!!!) and spend a good deal of time in an ESL classroom as well. mmm to moving away from theorytheorytheory and into practicepracticepractice.
5. Working at Bryn Mawr and Haverford College this summer as an ESL instructor and drama teacher
6..Getting back into yoga and maybe even trying Bikram (hot) yoga (???)
7. Visiting Uncle Marc with mom at some point

I also added some random positives that have been happening so far to the list
8. I've finally started making my own delicious coffee each morning. (and night...)
9. I can officially "bench press" 25 pounds and do 25 consecutive push ups (...lol)
10. I think I may actually be able to get the TEFL course to count for my degree (which means no thesis writing YES)
11. I got a killer (tremendously overdue) haircut
12. I'm going to start going to regular Tuesday dinners in Arlington with W&M area alums
13. Abigail will be coming up sometime this semester and along with Carter we're going to see Henry V at the Shakespeare Theatre Company.

Basically, we're talking a near 180 from my last post. Gotta laugh...a little.

To Be Candid

"Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone." --Mr. Rogers

2010's "Word of the Year" as determined by Zan, Lys, Rick and Co. is "Rejuvenate," and I think they couldn't have picked anything better or more appropriate.
